Can you solve it?

Try your luck!

How quickly can you find out what is unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing was wrong with it at all, and in fact, nothing is. But it is unusual. Why? If you study it and think about it you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without coaching. No doubt if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. I don't know.

Friday's Question of the Week

10/14/2011

Everyone has a place they go to let out the stresses of life, whether that be a beach, bar, coffee shop, or just somewhere away from people. What is your stress-free spot? Why is that spot so relaxing?

Discussion Prompt - 10/08/2011

During the past few weeks, I have seen a common trend in my dealings with friends, acquaintances, and even in my own life. There seems to be a rise of animosity as we approach the holiday season.  In matters of the heart, everyone seems to be pointing the finger at the other gender. "Women are heartless", "men act like kindergarteners", and even "love? what is that?" There also seems to be a lack of faith in our judicial system with the cases of Casey Anthony, Amanda Knox, and Troy Davis. "The judicial system needs help", "does my vote actually count", and "is this country really a democracy?" It appears that we are losing heart in our country.

I am interested to know your perspectives on these issues. Is it simply a misunderstanding of genders and a lack of physical evidence?

Friday's Question of the Week

Welcome to the Question of the Week! During my everyday comings-and-goings I find that at least once a week I think of a variety of things: possible story lines, if-then scenarios, and questions. Some questions I found intriguing enough to want to reach out for insight. Those that view this blog, congratulations! You are that prospective insight. Whether you find the question intriguing enough to answer is completely up to you.

We go through life defining ourselves - understanding who we are, what we have become or want to become, and taking a leading role in doing the best we can in life. Given our current situation in the world, we all seek out careers and hobbies that give us fulfillment, entertainment, and, if we are efficient enough, money. But what if we could recreate ourselves? This week's question is:

If you could go back to any age, keeping your current knowledge and wisdom, what age would it be and why?

To make it fair, I will answer with my own thoughts. Seventeen. At that age I had become fully aware of my personality (and I had started playing varsity in basketball). Looking back, I did not put my all into high school. I would have made different choices and helped myself in the long run.

Fall Hump Day

Hello fellow writers!

As we all know it's Hump Day and Autumn is underway. The weather is becoming more bearable and the scenery is beginning to change to that pretty yellow-brown-purply-orange that is so hypnotizing. What more of a scene do you need to let those creative juices flow? Write 300 words with an Autumn theme. Any genre! Happy Hump Day!
